The Princess Building (公主楼, Princess Villa) is a stunning architectural gem located in the scenic Eight Great Passes area of Qingdao. The building's story began in 1929, when a Danish prince visited Qingdao and decided to establish a consulate there in 1931. He commissioned this elegant Danish classical-style structure as a gift for a princess who never visited. Its design reflects Danish influences, with a sturdy brick and wood main structure, a steep double-sloped roof, and vibrant exterior colors. Inside, visitors find a thoughtfully organized layout with dining and living rooms on the first floor, a bedroom and chess room on the second, and exhibition halls showcasing cultural artifacts, including a statue of Hans Christian Andersen and Danish souvenirs. This impressive structure spans 60 meters (197 feet) in length and 2 meters (6.56 feet) in width, seamlessly connecting the marina with the dams. The Sightseeing Beacon
The stunning sightseeing beacon was created to celebrate China’s remarkable achievement in winning the bid for the 2008 Beijing Olympics! Standing proudly at 20.08 meters (65.88 feet) tall and with a base diameter of 8.11 meters (26.6 feet), it beautifully marks the date of the thrilling sailing race held on August 11, 2008.
